Hand Paint ‘Clive Christian’ Kitchen in Beeston, Nottingham

Clive Christian is a world renowned name in high end quality bespoke furniture and this 15 year old example is one of their custom made kitchens which I repainted recently in Beeston, Nottingham. Set in the affluent area of Beeston Fields Drive, known locally as ‘Millionaires Row’ and once reported to be the most expensive road in the East Midlands, my client inherited this Clive Christian kitchen when they purchased the property several years ago.

luxurious kitchen in need of a repaint

Still a luxurious kitchen but ready for a re-paint

The kitchen itself  had never been repainted and still remained in pretty good condition, although the original glaze and wipe finish was looking a little worn and nothing more than general wear and tear. The cabinets and doors remained structurally sound as you would expect from luxury hand made furniture such as this. My client was never keen on the original yellow aged look but was keen to update it and give it a fresh new look, together with some new cupboard baskets to the large larder cupboards which were being supplied and fitted by Osborne of Ilkeston. Clive Christian in BFD 2 Your guaranteed to find plenty of intricate detail in a Clive Christian kitchen and this one was no exception, so my first job was to number all removable parts such as doors and draws and give every where a good thorough degrease and prep. Clive Christian Island b4 The client wanted a warm cream colour which I had mixed in an equivalent colour to Farrow & Ball’s ‘Clunch’. Once all the prep was out of the way (which took two of us 2 days) we began priming with a special high adhesion primer, tinted to match the top coats. This was followed by 2 full top coats of specialist furniture paint in a matt finish. After refitting all the knobs, doors and draws (which are removed during the process to ensure a thorough paint job) This bespoke kitchen was good to go for another 10 years or more, and at a fraction of the cost of replacement. We finished the project off by redecorating the ceilings, walls and woodwork at the request and delight of the client.

We are a family run business with over 3 decades of experience in providing high quality paint finishes and workmanship on hand painted kitchens, furniture and interiors.
